DANGER: Apathy is Contagious

Listen…Indifferent and apathetic people are JUST as dangerous to your life as negative people. Apathy is CONTAGIOUS! You can just feel it, can’t you? Those unmotivated,don’t-care folks just suck the energy and life right out of you. You can sense mediocrity settling in like a dense fog or wet blanket.

Don’t be afraid to say, “Oh No! Not around me! I’ve got things to do & goals to reach!” It’s not enough anymore to just stay away from “negative” people — you’ve got to keep those ho-hum buddies at bay too. If what you want is to STANDOUT, get ahead, make good decisions and fuel healthy relationships then do this: Surround yourself with those that are reaching for more and keeping pace and let those indifferent folks play in their own dull sandbox!

They’re no FUN anyway! And isn’t it time you had more FUN?

Here are some tips from 10 Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd:

1. Avoid negative or indifferent people when you can. They make it hard to be creative, positive, hopeful or get through tough times.
2. Choose people with positive attitudes — they will be contributors to your growth and plans for success.
3. When you’ve got to deal with these people (and let’s face it we all do from time to time) put up a mental “barrier” and remind yourself often that THEIR attitudes don’t have to be YOUR attitudes.
4. Don’t try to change them. While commendable, these people have a lot of experience getting rewarded for their behavior. Focus instead on being the best YOU can be.

Go for it! Safeguard yourself from apathetic, I-don’t-care, that’s not-my-job attitudes and focus instead on the opportunities ahead, the job at hand and the blessings you can count!
